After nearly three decades with Fox 29 Sue Serio is saying goodbye.
The popular news anchor announced her retirement on Tuesday morning’s edition of Good Day Philadelphia.
“This is a bit of a bittersweet morning for me because today is my last day here at Fox 29” she said.
“I’ve decided to retire and spend more time with my family and just enjoy life.”
Serio began her career at the station in 1989 as a weathercaster. She eventually became the main weather anchor and a fixture on Good Day Philadelphia.
“It’s been an amazing ride” she said. “I’ve been so blessed to work with such a talented group of people over the years.”
Serio said she plans to stay in the Philadelphia area and will continue to work on her annual St.
Jude Telethon.
“Thank you so much for letting me into your homes every day” she said. “It’s been my pleasure and my honor.
”
